   Obec leží 5 kilometrů jižně od Terezína na pravém břehu Ohře. Původní jméno Dolany je zmiňováno k roku 1051 v zakládací listině kapituly litoměřické. Obec prokazatelně existovala na konci 12. století, kdy byla v majetku litoměřického kastelána Bleha. Dnes tu žije kolem 250 obyvatel. Dominantou obce je původně gotický kostel sv. Jiljí, který barokně přestavěl architekt Antonio della Porta (1631-1702). U kostela stojí barokní zvonice a pozdně barokní fara. Milník při silnici E 55 označoval polovinu cesty mezi Berlínem a Vídní. Jižně od obce při silnici na Doksany je po pravé straně odumřelé torzo tzv. Umučeného dubu. The village lies 5 kilometres south of the famous Terezín Fortress on the right bank of the Ohře River. The original name Dolany is mentioned in 1051 in the founding charter of the Litoměřice chapter. The village evidently existed at the end of the 12th century, when it was in the possession of the castellan Bleh of Litoměřice. Today there are about 250 inhabitants here. The dominant feature of the village is the original Gothic church of St. Giles, which was rebuilt in Baroque style by the architect Antonio della Porta (1631-1702). Next to the church there is a Baroque bell tower and a late Baroque rectory. The milestone on the E55 marked the halfway point between Berlin and Vienna. To the south of the village on the road to Doksany, on the right-hand side is the dead torso of the so-called "Tortured Oak".
