   Tůně pod Zbàbou je zajímavý projekt takřka uprostřed Bakova, v místech, kde kdysi Jizera protékala. Podloží tvoří druhohorní pískovce (svrchní křída), na kterých leží čtvrtohorní nivní sedimenty. Geologický charakter nivy byl ve čtvrtohorách utvářen postupnými změnami koryta řeky i jejich slepých ramen. Charakter území se v průběhu doby zvolna měnil, v letech 2014-2015 tu byly vyhloubeny dvě neprůtočné tůně sycené podzemní vodou, nad nimi vybudován umělý násep (z vytěženého materiálu) a vysazeny stromy a keře. Tůně mají odlišnou plochu i hloubku, sklony břehů jsou pozvolné, bez zpevnění a bez okolních stromů a keřů (které by stínily), což ještě zvyšuje pestrost zdejších organismů. Na první pohled vypadá místo jako nenápadný park, až když se začtete do textu na informačním panelu, zjistíte, o jak zajímavé místo se jedná. Tůně pod Zbàbou (The water hole below Zbàba) is an interesting project almost in the middle of Bakov, where Jizera river once flowed. The bedrock consists of Mesozoic sandstone (Upper Cretaceous), on which Quaternary alluvial sediments lie. The geological character of the floodplain was formed in the Quaternary by gradual changes of the riverbed and its blind branches. The character of the area has been slowly changing over the years, in 2014-2015 two non-flowable pools saturated with ground water were excavated, an artificial embankment (from excavated material) was built above them and trees and shrubs were planted. The pools have different surface areas and depths, the slopes of the banks are gradual, without reinforcement and without surrounding trees and shrubs (which would shade), which further increases the diversity of local organisms. At first glance, the place looks like an inconspicuous park, only when you read the text on the information panel to see how interesting it is.
