   Kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marie patří k nejstarším v Plzni a dodnes se zachoval v původní raně gotické podobě. Přesná doba vzniku kláštera a s ním spojeného kostela není známa. S výstavbou areálu bylo započato zřejmě krátce po založení Nové Plzně, tedy po roce 1295. První písemná zmínka o klášteru se však datuje až k roku 1336, kdy už stálo presbyterium a pokračovala stavba lodí. Při obléhání Plzně husity byl areál kláštera i s kostelem poničen. Opravy byly prováděny zejména až po roce 1460, kdy byl klášter předán observantům. Práce byly dokončeny až koncem 15. století, avšak další devastace započaly během třicetileté války. Následující barokní opravy zdevastovaného areálu začaly až roku 1621 a podílel se na nich v letech 1723 až 1724 i Jakub Auguston. Přestavba byla dokončena v roce 1740. The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is one of the oldest in Pilsen and has been preserved in its original early Gothic form. The exact time when the monastery and the associated church were built is unknown. The construction of the complex was probably started shortly after the foundation of New Pilsen, after 1295. However, the first written mention of the monastery dates back to 1336, when the presbytery was already standing and the construction of the nave was underway. During the siege of Pilsen by the Hussites, the monastery grounds and the church were destroyed. Repairs were carried out especially after 1460, when the monastery was handed over to the Observants. The works were completed at the end of the 15th century, but further devastation began during the Thirty Years' War. Subsequent Baroque repairs to the devastated site did not begin until 1621, and James Auguston participated in them between 1723 and 1724. The reconstruction was completed in 1740.
