   Nejstarší pohřebiště ve Staré Boleslavi bývalo u kostela svatého Václava. Po vypálení města Švédy a následném novém postupném osidlování byl hřbitov založen u kostela Nanebevzetí Panny Marie. Zrušen byl roku 1835 a pro pohřby začal sloužit nově založený hřbitov poblíž kaple blahoslaveného Podivena. Tento (v pořadí třetí) hřbitov existoval ještě roku 1878, po založení dalšího pohřebiště za hranicí města byl zrušen a na jeho místě vznikl park. Nový (čtvrtý) hřbitov byl založen před rokem 1878, kolem roku 1903 jej doplnila hřbitovní kaple a vstupní brána. Jejich autorem je architekt Kamil Hilbert. Hlavní klenák portálu na vstupní bráně byl vyzdoben pískovcovou hlavou Krista od sochaře Čeňka Vosmíka z roku 1903. Kaple byla opravena spolu s okolím a nově otevřena v únoru 2011. Na hřbitově je pohřben Rudolf kníže Thurn-Taxis, svobodný pán z Troskova, strážci Palladia a členové Kolegiátní kapituly sv. Kosmy a Damiána. The oldest burial place in Stará Boleslav used to be near the Church of St. Wenceslas. After the Swedes burned the town and the subsequent new gradual settlement, a cemetery was established at the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It was abolished in 1835 and the newly established cemetery near the Chapel of Blessed Podiven was used for burials. This (third) cemetery was still in existence in 1878, but after the establishment of another burial ground outside the town, it was closed and replaced by a park. The new (fourth) cemetery was founded before 1878, around 1903 it was supplemented by a cemetery chapel and an entrance gate. Their author is famous architect Kamil Hilbert. The main arch of the portal at the entrance gate was decorated with a sandstone head of Christ by sculptor Čeněk Vosmík from 1903. The chapel was repaired together with the surrounding area and reopened in February 2011. Rudolf Prince Thurn-Taxis, a free lord of Troskov, guardians of Palladium and members of the Collegiate Chapter of St. Cosmas and Damian are buried in the cemetery.
